I’m currently working on getting an RSS feed from the News category, parsing it, and displaying a handful of entries (with pretty formatting) on the BGS front page. I’m currently attempting this with MagpieRSS. It’s not gone too well, probably because I spent seven minutes on it, and then went back and finished the contact page. Best to finish one page, instead of half finishing multiple pages.

Well the blog is live, which I’m quite pleased to say! I spent many an hour today theming this wordpress install so that it fits perfectly with the rest of the site. It took me a while to find a theme that was basic enough that I could rip all the wordpress specific PHP code out of it and then wrap that in all my XHTML and CSS design code. I’m really quite pleased with the result!

Joe spent his day working on the contact page and the form that processes it. I don’t think he had ever done an HTML form before so it was a learning experience for him. I also learned a lot today, I had played around with wordpress themes before, but had never gotten one working completely. There are still a number of visual tweaks I will be working on to make it really shine, but all in all today was a very productive day for the both of us. The BlueGill Studios web site has benefited greatly from our work!
